Retired Welsh rugby star Gareth Thomas came out as a proud gay man in 2009, but he says he’s been “living with this secret for years … and keeping such a big secret has taken its toll.” After a tabloid newspaper threatened to reveal his status, Thomas announced that he’s HIV positive.
The very next day he successfully completed the grueling 140-mile Triathlon to prove that he’s more than physically fit. The “photo finish” splashed across many news sites as he completed a 26.2 mile marathon shows him running into husband Stephen’s embrace.
It’s been a hard time for Rwandan gospel singer Albert Nabonibo since he came out. Before that, he was popular with Christian fans. Here’s the official video of one of his first hits, the 2014 Sogongera.
